I recieved my RELIABLE MSK-558 PORTABLE BLINDSTITCH SEWING MACHINE in a timely manner. I am very pleased with this machine. I had a TACSEW hemmer that lasted me for 12 plus years. The RELIABLE is a good as the TACSEW. I do reccomend this machine. One thread guide was missing. The pigtail guide was not on the machine or in the box. I was able to take the guide off the TACSEW machine and use it on the RELIABLE machine. That missing guide would make the machine unusable and the inexperienced user would not know why the machine didn't work right, which may be why another poster sent back two machines claiming they were broken. I do alterations for local drycleaners and use the machine daily. Thank you, Susan

My mom sews for the public and having gone through one Baby Lock and 3 The Blind Hemmers we decided it was time for a different hemmer. We preferred to buy from Amazon instead of Amazon partners and several of the offered hemmers seem to be very similiar. I found positive reviews of this machine so we gave it a try.
I set it up for her and it didn't take long. I liked it so well, within a few weeks I bought me one. I have only "played" with mine so far but it really makes a nice stitch; my mom loves hers. I went ahead and changed a needle just because some had said it was very hard. I did not find it that time consuming or complicated. I read another place that the Organ brand needles didn't work with their machine so I took the time to try one; they worked fine for me. By the way, I called the company technician to ask about needle brands and although he was on another phone call at the time, he returned my call soon after that.
Be sure to pay attention to the recommendations of needle size and thread size in the instruction booklet. I think the proper thread with the proper needle will make a big difference in your results. At this time we are using Mettler Metrosene Plus 100 wt with the size 11/75 needle. Beautiful! I can't wait to get to all the hemming I need to do!
